Dear visitor,
Welcome to this web-site which is entirely dedicated to the art of photography. My name is Robert Barbarien and I am a self-taught amateur photographer from Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium. Photography is an important part of my life, not only because of the joy of creation, but also because of the people I met thanks to this fascinating hobby.
Although, as a veteran photographer, I often miss the smell of chemicals from the dark room, the digital age of photography has really opened an entirely new world for me and allows me to finally realize even my wildest photographycal ideas. All photographs on this site were taken by me and thereafter digitally editted and combined into different compositions. The goal of these compositions is to convey stories or sentiments to the audience. Whether I succeed in this goal is of course for you, the visitor to decide.
Perhaps the criticism I sometimes get from colleagues that I am not a real photographer but only an image compositor is true, but nonetheless, I have created these works with great pleasure. I am just trying to be original and to avoid running after every trend which happens to be hot at the moment.
